Melissa Saari grew up in Montana, where she learned many skills that helped her in the writing world. She currently lives in Washington State with the two sweetest dogs in the world, a pit bull named Marla and a Chow named Leo. When she's not taking care of the dogs, she is busy writing her new stories. Melissa's first major publication was in "Cozy Nighttime Stories," edited by Larry Parr. The story was called "The Enchanted Kingdom. It served as the rough background for a screenplay called "The Curse of the Lion-People." In the meantime, Melissa has been working on her Bachelor's Degree at Southern New Hampshire University in Creative Writing and Screenwriting. Her newest stories come from Finnish fairy tales. Because she connects with the stories, she is able to breathe new life into them. These stories are meant for modern children to read, with good moral endings. In Melissa's stories, many times cooperation triumphs over conflict and things are resolved peacefully. Melissa currently has two novels in publication, with another one coming soon. Her published works include "The Curse of the Lion People," a young adult fantasy novel, and "Mystic Lake," a romance book set in the West, both published by Spangaloo Publishing. Also coming soon is "The Red Satin Shoes," a young adult novel. Melissa would like her writing to bring inspiration to people. She is currently working on several other great stories, which are more for grown-ups, but still infused with magic and mystery. Please check back soon for more updates.
